Training: Graphical App Development
One task of computer science lessons is to impart programming. Visual programming environments are good to impart programming to middle school and junior high school students. Contemporary lessons are related to the students’ context of life. Today, most students have their own smartphone. Therefore, one should try to integrate them in the lessons to keep the students’ motivation high. As shown in this workshop, the reference to experience can be established by app programming.
As many new smartphones run the operating system Android, we develop apps for this system using the free MIT AppInventor.
All participants get both worksheets for participating and testing and materials for their own lessons.
